We'll be guided through seven BC gins (plus a bonus spirit!) representing different styles, regions and production methods. Leading the tasting is Fil Hemming. Fil has been heavily involved in the Vancouver Gin Society since it started, and has got to have one of the biggest gin collections in the city. He knows a thing or two and will be sharing some of his knowledge with us.

  2. Urban Distilleries Paul's Tomb Gin
  3. Ampersand Gin
  4. De Vine Spirits Genever
  5. Mad Labs Gin

BC Barrel-Aged Gins Showcase - Wednesday, April 5 at 7:00pm

24.99 + fees

Barrel-aged gins offers a whole new way to enjoy this spirit, and they are often surprisingly different from their un-aged versions. Barrel aging lends new flavours and aromas, and often softens the spirit, making the gin something easy to drink straight. This tasting will be led by the ineffable James Lester, distiller for Sons of Vancouver and the founder of the Vancouver Gin Society.

These may change but right now:

  1. Bohemian Spirits Forester Single Malt Oak Aged Gin
  2. Odd Society Oaken Wallflower Gin
  3. De Vine Spirits New Tom Barrel-Aged Gin
  4. Victoria Distillers Oaken Gin
  5. Long Table Bourbon Barrel Aged Gin
  6. Noteworthy Barrel Aged Gin
  7. Merridale Cidery & Distillery Copper Gin
  8. Wayward Barrel Aged Gin

BC Whiskies Showcase - Tuesday, April 4 at 7:00pm

SOLD OUT

Building on last year's awesome Whisky Preview, this year we've lined up six BC whiskies for you to try, plus a surprise, beautifully-aged guest spirit from the Okanagan. Shabeen head barman and whisky expert Randy Gaudreau has agreed to take the lead and guide us through tasting a variety of whiskies from across BC. This is a rare opportunity to sample this kind of line up.

Full disclosure - some of these will be less than the government-required three years, but they're often aged in smaller casks, which means they become drinkable faster.

These may change but right now:

  1. Central City Lohin McKinnon Whisky Single Malt
  2. Odd Society Single Malt
  3. Urban Distilleries Single Malt
  4. Okanagan Spirits Brbn
  5. De Vine Spirits Glen Saanich Single Malt
  6. Dubh Glas Whisky
  7. Pemberton Valley Organic Single Malt Whisky
